Our new family!!! Will didn't get to meet Claire until we arrived home from the hospital because of H1N1 precautions. His favorite phrase throughout the first week we were home was "MINE HOLD HER!!"
I can't believe how long it's been since my last post. Claire Mary arrived on September 7th at 6:24 pm. Nine minutes after the midwife arrived at the hospital. No kidding.
We had an incredible doula at our house as we labored at home as long as possible and then had to rush to the hospital. Sean was terrified we'd be delivering Baby #2 on the side of the road.
Anyway, it all worked out in the end because Claire was ready to meet the world as soon as we arrived at the hospital. She's been a dream ever since. I keep knocking on wood every time I write or say that...I have a feeling she's going to give me a run for my money in high school as payback.

Claire was "Baby Girl" O'Sullivan for about 12 hours before we finally made the decision. We were convinced "she" was a "he" so we didn't have a girl name finalized.
Will is adjusting to life as a big brother. Our favorite word is "gentle." It's hard to be gentle when you are two and have oodles of energy. It's funny with a second child...with Will, we were very concerned with stimulating him enough, keeping him on a good nap schedule, introducing new music and books to him on a daily basis. With Claire, I feel like I'm just trying to protect her and keep her alive on a daily basis.
The best shot from Claire's 1 month photo shoot at home with Mama. I wish we lived closer to my friend Kelly, who did amazing shots of Will when he was 3 weeks old.
Claire is definitely Sean's "mini-me" and Will definitely has my furrowed brow.

"We have 2 kids?!"

My two favorite guys..

Will's new armchair from Gramma. I think he was chatting with Poppa in this shot.

First smiles from Claire=)
A friend of mine recently told me that she didn't realize her family was missing something until the birth of her second child. As apprehensive as I was about balancing two kids, Claire is our missing piece. Who knows if there might be another piece to add to our family someday but for now, our family feels just right.
Will's Harvest Hayride at preschool. He had a ball!
